Trains to and from Milan Linate Airport (LIN)

Linate Airport does not have its own train station. However, bus line's No. 73 connects Milano Forlanini railway station with Linate Airport's single terminal. The bus stops 7 times, a short journey of ca. 10 minutes. Buses from line 73 run at regular intervals throughout the day and evening. More information about buses to and from Linate Airport.

From Milano Forlanini it is possible to get a connection via S5, S6 and S9 trains to central Milan destinations, including Milano Centrale railway station. The trains of “S” line run every 30 minutes between the hours of 06.00 and 00.00. Trains run every day of the year. “S” line also covers destinations like Albairate, Novara, Varese, Como, Saronno and Treviglio.

Routes offered from Milano Forlanini Train Station & Linate Airport

S5 operates on the Varese-Treviglio route. Line S6 operates on the Novara-Pioltello-Treviglio route. Line S5 trains take 90 minutes from Varese to Milano Forlanini train station. Line S6 trains from Novara take 70 minutes to reach Milano Forlanini train station near Linate Airport.

S5 Varese – Treviglio via Linate Airport

S5 trains depart from Varese every 30 minutes between 06.18 and 22.18 hours. Trains stop at Gazzada, Schimanno, Morazzone, Castronno, Albizzate, Cavaria, Gallarate, Busto Arsizio FS, Legnano, Canegrate, Parabiago, Vanzago, Rho, Rho Fiera Exhibition Ground, Milano Certosa, Milano Villapizzone, Milano Lancetti, Milano P ta Garibaldi, Milano Repubblica, Milano P ta Venezia, Milano Dateo, Milano P ta Vittora, Milano Forlanini. Trains departing at 22.48 to 00.18 end their journey at Gallarante train station.

S5 Milan Forlanini – Treviglio – Varese via Segrate & Milano Forlanini Train Station

Between 05.40 and 23.40 S5 line trains leave Milan Forlanini train station every 30 minutes. Trains leaving Milan Forlanini at 00.10 and 00.40 end their journey at Pioltello-Limito train station.

Ticket Pricing:

Single tickets cost around 6.10 euros per person for a Standard Class ticket with an advance booking discount. If you purchase your single ticket on the day of travel it costs ca. 6.96 euros per person.

S6 Novara- Pioltello – Treviglio via Segrate & Milano Forlanini Train Station

Between 05.18 and 23.18 S6 line trains leave every 30 minutes. They stop at Trecate, Magenta, Corbetta S. Stefano Ticino, Vittuone-Arluno, Pregnana Milanese, Rho, Rho Fiera Exhibition Ground, Milano Certosa, Milano Villapizzone, Milano Lancetti, Milano P ta Garibaldi, Milano Repubblica, Milano P ta Venezia, Milano Dateo, Milano P ta Vittoria, Milano Forlanini and Segrate, before carrying on to Pioltello, Vignate, Melzo, Pozzuolo Martesana, Trecella, Cassano d'Adda and Treviglio.

S6 Treviglio – Pioltello – Novara via Segrate & Milano Forlanini

Between 06.25 and 20.25 S6 line trains depart every 30 minutes from Treviglio station. The remaining time slots of the timetable are used by S6 line trains, which leave for Milano Forlanini train station from Pioltello-Limito. The first train runs at 06.53, then every 30 minutes from 08.23 to 19.53, and after that from 21.23 to 23.53 hours. S6 trains take 40 minutes from Treviglio to reach Milano Forlanini station. From Pioltell-Limito trains tatke 10 minutes to arrive at Milano Forlanini.

Ticket Pricing:

A Standard class single ticket costs ca 5.58 euros. Tickets bought in advance are usually discounted.

S9 Line Saronno - Seregno – Milano Forlanini – Albairate

S9 trains depart every 30 minutes between 05.35 and 09.05, and every hour between 09.05 and 12.05, then again at 30-minute intervals. From 05.20 to 05.56, however, trains start at Milan Garibaldi train station. Travel time from Saronno to Milano Forlanini is 65 minutes.

Stops are: Saronno MXP, Saronno Sud, Ceriano Laghetto-Solaro, Cesano Maderno, Seveso Baruccana, Seregno, Desio, Lissone-Muggiò, Monza, Sesto S Giovanni, Milano Greco Pirelli, Milano P ta Garibaldi, Milano Lambrate and Milani Forlanini, from where the trains leave for Milano P ta Romana, Milano Romolo, Milano S Cristoforo, Corsico, Cesano Boscone, Trezzano sul Naviglio, Gaggiano and Albrairate.

S9 Line Milano Forlanini to Saronno

From 06.50 to 09.50, S9 trains leave Milano Forlanini at 30-minute intervals, then at 60-minute intervals from 09.50 to 11.50. From then, the service is half-hourly again until 19.50, and again between the hours of 20.50 and 21.50.

At 09.20, 10.20, 11.20, 21.20, 22.20, 220.50 and 23.20, S9 line trains end at Milano Garibaldi. The 20.40 hour trains end at Seregano.

Ticket Pricing:

Single tickets cost ca 2.90 euro per person for a Standard class ticket booked in advance. Last-minute tickets booked on the day of travel cost ca 3.05 euros.

Where to buy Tickets:

Ticket pricing is based on the number of kilometers travelled, and is divided into travel zones for this purpose. For example, a Standard class ticket for a zone covering up to 5 kilometers costs 1.40 euros per person. Children aged 4 to 13 pay half that amount. Tickets are only valid for one hour from the moment of purchase and only cover one trip per zone.
